Data Analysis | Visualizations

You’ve heard the saying, “A picture is worth a thousand words”? The same applies to numbers. Cartesian graphs, maps, charts, and other tools help the mind easily grasp trends, patterns, outliers, and understand what is happening. The “what” helps you make key decisions on strategy and performance.

Below are examples of dashboards that I designed and developed as either self-service metrics or communication pieces.

VC Funding

This self-service, interactive dashboard gives users up-date trends, patterns, and metrics from a database capturing the firm’s VC deals.

We conducted a usability test with a limited number of partners in the Emerging Companies group.

Software used: Tableau, PhotoShop

Responsibility: data modeling, design, copy, user testing

VC Dashboard

I’m in charge of maintaining the public-facing VC dashboard on Cooley Go.

Software: Tableau

Responsibility: Design, Optimization

Threshold Analysis

We created a dashboard to notify the information governance team when information transfers were in danger of missing deadlines. The unstructured information stored in a SharePoint application required four hours of cleaning.

By working with stakeholders to alter the forms they used to collect data and adding an automated workflow, we were able to update the self-service, on-demand dashboard from four hours to 15 minutes.

Software used: Tableau, Alteryx

Responsibility: data modeling, strategy, design, usability testing.

Service Desk Operations

This self-service, interactive dashboard shows stakeholders metrics month-over-month performance metrics from a call center, and technical teams.

Software used: Tableau

Responsibility: data modeling, design

Market Analysis

This interactive dashboard represents a quarterly business analysis for a presentation by the Marketing and Emerging Companies departments.

Software used: Tableau, PhotoShop

Responsibility: data modeling, design

Finding Usability Testers

When finding usability testers within our firm, our team need to know which departments worked for, and how they interacted with the software we were testing. I designed this dashboard for our team to chose appropriate participants and also could design the usability scripts for them.

Software: Tableau, SQL

Responsibility: Data modeling, design, user testing plan

Knowledge Sharing

I prepared this stand-alone communications piece as a visual element for our intranet.

Software: Tableau, PhotoShop

Responsibility: Data modeling, design

Vanishing Lions

Pro Bono communication piece for the Kevin Richardson Foundation.

The challenge was conveying a lot of content on one dashboard. I used the hover-over tool in the pie/circle so users could consume more information.
