My name is Tanya. My family and close friends call me “Tiki,” a name my Grandfather gave me after a mongoose that Rudyard Kipling wrote about. I cut my teeth at a newspaper writing copy. I eventually went into public relations, but with every campaign or ad I wrote, I became more interested in the metrics:
- Did the ad meet its goal?
- How can we better increase enrollment in our certificate program?
- Am I using the correct word in my headline? Is it a word users will search for?
Fast-forward and here I am, a visual data analyst asking similar questions and using my education in UX and data analysis to help.
I use Tableau, but I am also familiar with SQL and Python. I am continually learning about how I can connect and blend various data sets to create a better picture and better metrics for my stakeholders.
I use my background in UX to iteratively design dashboards for users of the information.
